Headline
A headline is the main story of the page and is bold to attract readers.

Caption
A caption gives info about other spoken of topics.

Strapline
A slogan used by the company of the magazine.

Standfirst
The first paragraph of an article.

Typography

Serif and Sans-Serif Typefaces
The font of the page either has flicks which is serif or none which is sans-serif.

Specialist Typefaces
Unique fonts dedicated to the magazine.

Font Size/Italics/Bold
The size of the font, its boldness and its angle.

Language

Formal and Informal Register
The formality and seriousness of the language used.

Direct Mode of Address
Whether the language used speaks to the reader directly or to the general audience.

Puns, Colloquialisms, Slang
Whether the language used includes youth language that the audience understands, and bad jokes.

Image

Graphics
This is where there are computer made images with the pages image.

Camerawork and Mise En Scene in Photography
Where the camera is and what is actually there when the image is taken (props).

Depth of Field
What the image is focused on.

Digital Manipulation
Where the image is editing in a computer program.

Cropping
Where the image is resized, moving the edges

Camerawork

Establishing Shots
The first shot of a new scene

Low angle, High angle, Canted angle or Aerial shots

Elaborate Camera Movement Such as Tracks, Steadicam or Crane Shots
Different types of ways that the camera moves in a scene

Hand-Held Camera
When the camera is recording from someone's hand

Point-Of-View Shots
When the recording is taken from the view of a person

Shallow Focus and Focus Pulls
Small depth of field and image sharpness

Editing

Shot/Reverse Shot
Where a character is looking at an off-screen character and then the camera switches to doing the same for the character being first looked at

Juxtaposition
To contrasting things being shown in the same shot

Non-Continuity Editing
Editing that flashes back to a previous scene

Crosscutting
When a camera cuts from one action in a scene to another

Fast-Paced Editing
Several shots shown very quickly

Less Common Transitions: Dissolve, Wipe, Fade
The way a scene transitions to another scene

Post-Production Effects
Any editing done to raw video

Soundtrack

Music
The song playing with the video

Diegetic/Non-Diegetic Sound
Sound that the characters can hear and the sounds they cant hear

Sound Effects
The edited sounds that are used when actions happen

Sound Bridge
When a sound happens at the same time as a visual transition

Voiceover
Voice that is played over a video or other sound

Mise en Scene

Lighting
Where lights are focused, how bright they are, what colour and other attributes

Location/Set
Where the video is taken and what is in the scene when the video is taken

Costume and Make-Up
What the characters are wearing and what they look like

Props
What items and objects are in the scene at the time of recording

Casting and Performance Style
What the characters are doing and their style of movement

Blocking
Where the characters are in the scene
